Happy Anniversary to us!

Today we celebrated our 7 year anniversary. What was supposed to be an evening of leftovers for dinner and then Kyle's swim lessons took a different turn. I ended up taking Kyle to the doctor today. His eye started swelling and was hurting him a lot. So, it was off to Dr. Schapker's office. It turned out he has a form of pink eye. So, Kyle thought he lucked out because Dr. Schapker told him not to go and get in the pool at swim lessons. So, because it was our anniversary we went to Abuelo's for dinner. Then, we came home and ate the chocolate covered strawberries Kyle and I made today. Kyle & his swollen eye. It actually looks much better in this picture than it had. This morning he couldn't even hold it open. He's got eye drops and doing much better at the moment.
Enjoying the chocolate covered strawberries.....Yummy!

Bring More Fish!

Well, we were finally able to get together at Mom & Dad's house to fry the fish that Ben and Dad caught on the Annual Reel Foot Lake fishing trip. Ben & Dad put their fish together so that Dad could just fry it all up one evening for all of us. Well, it was about two hours before time to leave when we get a phone call saying that we needed to stop somewhere and pick up some more fish because those bags just didn't have as much fish as they originally thought. (There was probably enough Reel Foot fish to feed two people). So, we stopped at Buy-Low on the way and picked up some Tilapia and catfish nuggets. Maybe next year will be the year for you boys. Mamaw, Kyle & Hannah were kneeling down to check out the rainbow that you could see in the distance. I actually got them to stop and look at me for a second. Kyle was fascinated with the rainbow and wanted to go and find the pot of gold at the end of it.

Having Fun at the St. John's Summer Social

We went to the St. John's Summer Social on Saturday night. The kids had a good time playing games, eating and playing on the playground. On the way home we stopped at our favorite icecream shop. It is not far from our house and is a summer favorite of ours. They have the best & largest soft serve icecream cones. My favorite are the soft serve sherbert cones! Yummy!
Hannah enjoyed her corndog until she had a taste of my chicken-n-dumplings. Then, she knew what was good. She lost the corndog and helped me eat my dumplings.
Kyle got to go fishing for fish instead of ducks for this game.

Hannah deciding which duck she is going to go after.

Hannah just loved the duck game. She wanted to play over & over.
I believe she would have just jumped in and swam with the ducks had we let her.

Kyle had fun playing games. PLINKO was his favorite game.

Such a big icecream for such a little girl. She managed to finish most of it, though!

Yard Sale Weekend!

We had a yard sale at our house this weekend (Friday & Saturday). It was getting about Hannah's naptime when she went and got a snowsuit off one of the tables. She then went over to the baby swing that was for sale and climbed on in and covered herself up. She then said to everyone, "Night, Night" and closed her eyes.
A little later she found a doll on one of the tables and a nice place to cozy up and lie down on the entertainment center shelf. She was keeping us entertained!

Hannah found a blanket she wanted to buy.

For a brief moment Kyle & Hannah got out of our sight.
We found them under the table with snacks in hand.

(one of the many purchases we made at our own yard sale)

I couldn't resist taking pictures of Allison when she climbed up in the wheelbarrow.

Kyle & Madelyn pretending to walk on a balance beam. The cutest thing they did, though, that I didn't get a picture of but will have to share. The two of them were over at the neighbors house standing in their front yard just looking at their house. I yelled at them to get back over in our yard. Kyle replied back with, "Just a minute we're looking at this house. We're thinking about buying it." We all rolled in laughter!

Kyle & Madelyn have always been the best of friends!

A Visit from Uncle Jason, Aunt Natalie & Christian

Hannah just loves babies. So, she was extra excited to get to hang out with her cousin Christian lastnight. I just loved this picture of the two of them. It looks as if they are in their own little world having a conversation together.
Christian playing with Kyle's stuffed dog.
(How cute!)

Hannah giving Christian a pat on the back. Christian is trained well to smile when there is a camera in front of him. So, he is posed picture perfect with his adorable smile.

Jason showing all of us how ticklish Christian is. He's got the cutest little giggle. (And yes, that is Kyle in his winter pajamas that he insisted on wearing. That was one of those battles that just wasn't worth fighting with a four year old!)

Jason, Christian and Kyle hanging out. I'm not sure whether they were attempting to pose for a picture or what.

Happy Father's Day!

We went to Ben's mom & dad's house to celebrate Father's Day. We grilled hamburgers & hotdogs and the boys made the best onion rings I've ever had. It was all delicious. Kyle especially loved the lemon cake and Hannah enjoyed the Angel food cake.
Ben & the kids also got in the pool after supper until lightening drove them out. Here are some of the pictures I took of our day.
(My dad had to work so we will be celebrating Father's Day with him another day....I love you, Dad).
Happy Father's Day, Ben & Rich. We love you!

Kyle & Hannah are waiting patiently to get into the pool. They were so excited to go swimming at Mamaw & Papa's house. Kyle had a new swim vest and couldn't wait to try out the skills he has been learning at swim lessons.

Here is Kyle giving Hannah a push around the pool. Hannah would sit in her boat for just a little while but she mostly liked being in the water all the way. She is the one I should have in swim lessons. She's going to be the little fish of the family!

Kyle is learning to love the water, too. His new swim vest we got him gave him the confidence he needed to practice his swimming skills. He has swim lessons again tonight. He had so much fun swimming at Mamaw & Papa's that he is already asking when we can go again. He is also excited about swim lessons tonight. (That's a new one - he usually dreads going).

Lovin' Baby Reagan

Baby Reagan came over lastnight. Hannah just loves her. Hannah thought that she was going to get to sit and hold her all night. She wanted to treat Reagan just like she does her own baby dolls. They were precious together.

So Proud!!

Ben just got back from the annual Reel Foot Lake fishing trip. Here is a picture of him standing with his prize-winning trophy that he brought home. Ben & JB won the tournament, so Ben got to bring home the traveling trophy to keep until Christmas. At that time, JB will get the honor of having it in his home until it is passed along to a new winner next summer.
Now, wouldn't we all be so proud to have this on our mantle??

Having Fun

Want a cracker?

Kyle & Hannah testing the water wondering, "Do you think Mommy would get mad if we just got in with our clothes on?"

Oh, of course not, Mommy loves doing laundry!

Going up for a shot

A Visit from Uncle Steven & Aunt Kara

Uncle Steven & (soon to be) Aunt Kara came over this weekend. Kyle & Hannah were so excited to spend time with them. Kyle especially enjoyed wrestling with Uncle Steven.

Giving my friend a push

I got to babysit my friend Renee's little girl, Keelin. Hannah & Keelin are only three months apart. The girls had so much fun. Hannah was pushing Keelin around the house on the fire truck in this picture.

Swimming with Leland

Kyle's friend Leland came over to swim. The boys had so much fun playing in the pool. Hannah enjoyed herself, too.
