Gender Reveal Party

Last night we went to Jason & Natalie’s house for their gender reveal.  Hannah and I both wore our pink scarves.  I didn’t really have a feeling one way or the other on whether it was going to be boy or girl, but went with pink anyway.  Kyle said, “Mom, you know it’s going to be a boy.”  When I asked him why he knew, he said, “Well, look what happened the first 3 times.”  And Kyle was right, I’m going to be Aunt Jamie to another sweet BOY!!  He is going to be one blessed boy, also.  He already has 3 big brothers to teach him everything they know.  He is already loved so much!  I can’t wait to meet Elijah!!!

Sleepover with Keelin

Keelin and Hannah had been begging us moms for months for a sleep over.  I’d promised the girls that we’d make it happen over Spring Break.  So, on Thursday Keelin and Hannah got their playdate and sleep over.  They played so well together and had SO much fun.  The didn’t stop the whole time – making crafts, dressing up, jumping on the trampoline, playing basketball, and watching movies.

Day trip to Bowling Green

Today we headed to Bowling Green with Ben’s parents to visit the corvette plant and the museum.  It was a fun day and the kids loved getting to see how the cars were made.  Hannah seemed to be the most intrigued with the plant.  She did not leave our tour guides side the entire time.  Even when the rest of us sometimes got moved to the back of the line, Hannah made sure she was right up front next to the guide.  When she had questions, she raised her hand and asked, too.  I was surprised to see how interested she was.  Unfortunately, cameras aren’t allowed anywhere near the plant.  So, no pictures from there.  After the plant, we headed down the road to the Corvette Museum.  It was a neat place to visit.  I have to say that the highlight for the museum for me was seeing the cars that were on display that had fallen into the sink hole.  It was unreal.  The last car they had pulled out so far, was by far the worst.  It was displayed behind the glass inside the room with the sink hole.  It was really sad to see and I wasn’t expecting such an emotional reaction, but seeing that car definitely brought tears to my eyes.  It was very sad.  There are still three cars in the sink hole and they can’t find them.  The plan now is for them to suction out some of the dirt to see if they can locate them.  They have a live camera feed showing the work and you can also see into the room through a glass wall they have installed.  All of the cars that were damaged are on display with their before pictures.  It was also neat to see people picking up their corvettes.  When you special order a corvette, you have the option to pick it up in the museum.  The car is on display there until you come to pick it up.  They make it a really big deal.  So, we got to watch a few people drive off in their new corvettes.  We stopped for dinner on the way home at Cheddars.  It was a nice one day get-away for Spring Break!

Terre Haute Meet

Hannah had a meet in Terre Haute this past weekend.  It was a perfect place to have a meet because that’s where Adam & Benicia live.  We made a weekend trip out of it with the whole family.  Rich, Joan, Mark, Megan, Adam & Benicia all went to the meet to cheer Hannah on.  We all also spent the night at Adam & Benicia’s house.  It was a lot of fun.  The kids enjoyed having craft time with Aunt Benicia.  She helped them each make a pillow.  Kyle made a basketball shaped pillow and Hannah made a dog shaped pillow.  Uncle Adam and Kyle also made a aluminum can robot on Sunday.  Saturday night we hung out watched Frozen and played games.  On Sunday the four of us went to the Terre Haute children’s museum.  We stopped for BBQ at Ricks Smokehouse after the museum.  It was a great weekend!!  Oh, and Hannah got 1st place in all 3 events!!
