Catching Up....

I'm soooo behind on my blog and I absolutely hate getting this behind on it.  I really like to keep it up to date because I love being able to have these memories printed out into my blog books.  It seems once I get so behind that I find it hard to catch back up.  Things have been so busy at our house.  Kyle has started baseball.  Hannah has started gymnastics.  We've also had a huge construction project going on in our special education area (my area) at school that has taken up all of my free time.  I never dreamed that when I went to college to be a teacher that it would involve so much handyman work.  Yes, I've painted, ripped up carpet, chisseled tile and cleaned up one mess after another during this project.  The worst part of it is over, though and I'm so excited about our new space.  I may try and post a few pictures of the demolition and remodel soon.  Ben and I are also on many church/school committees, so it seems we always have some kind of meeting we are going to.  I really hope that once summer hits that our schedules will slow down a bit.

So, I'm attempting to get my blog updated for the sake of having these memories recorded.  Here are a few highlights of the past month.

April 2 - We went to the Vaught's house and helped Jackson celebrate his 7th birthday.  We had dinner and cake, and as always, had a wonderful time.  Jackson had a lego cake which was a huge hit with the boys!

Jackson loved the lego set we got him

Henry feeding Ben icing....too cute:)

April 5 - This was Kyle's actual birthday and Chuck E Cheese fundraiser night just happened to fall on his birthday.  We gave him his present from us and then headed to Chuck E Cheese for the evening.  He had already gotten his new golf clubs from us and then we surprised him with Super Mario Brothers for the Wii.  This is his favorite Wii game.  He loves playing it when we go to Tennessee to visit Steven & Kara.  He was quite excited when he opened it!!

Look at that face...you can see the excitement!

On April 8, Kyle got to celebrate his birthday yet again!  Natalie was out of town and wasn't able to make it to his party, so the 4 of them brought over pizza and breadsticks and we had a movie night.  Kyle is always asking when we are going to have a movie night with Jason & Natalie.  Natalie thought it would be a perfect idea to have a movie night with Kyle.  What a great idea it was.  He was so excited!  They got him Toy Story 3 and popcorn.  (He also got movie sized candy boxes, but Kyle & Hannah gave up candy for Lent).  The candy is stored away for now.  We used to have movie night all of the time with Jason & Natalie when it was just the four of us.  It's neat now to still have movie night and watch the kids enjoy it so much.  I definitely can't wait to do it again!

The dollhouse is always a hit with all the kids

April 12 - Kyle celebrates his birthday AGAIN!!!  Grandma Emilie just returned from Florida, so she wasn't able to celebrate with Kyle yet either.  She came over for dinner and to give Kyle his birthday present.  We were so happy to see her again and we're glad she's home!
Grandma brought Hannah a new purse.  Hannah loves it!

Kyle got a Mickey Mouse t-shirt from Florida and a DVD collection set of cartoons.  Thanks Grandma!!  We love you!

Hannah started gymnastics this month, also.  She absolutely LOVES it!!  In fact, when her teacher asked her the first time if she was going to come back, she said, "Yeah...tomorrow!"  Too bad the class is only one time a week.  We have to do a countdown everyday so she knows how many days she has left until she gets to go again.  She's been to three classes now.  I was super impressed with her during the class.  She had no fear at all of any of the equipment and did very well.  I believe she's found her thing!!

April 15 - I went to the MEO Tri-State Idol Gala.  It was the first year for this fundraiser and what a success it was.  I had so much fun!  Our Priest, Father Burns, was the guest performer.  He raps and is VERY good at it.  His performance was a big highlight of the night.  They had a nice dinner, silent & live auctions and the "Idol" contestants performances.  They were all very good, so it was a very entertaining evening.  I'm so thankful to those that came out and supported the event.  It was truly a worthwhile cause!

April 16 - Kyle had his friend Jayden over for the afternoon. Jayden had called wanting Kyle to come over, but I knew Jayden's Mom is very busy getting ready for her upcoming wedding.  So, I asked if we could have Jayden instead.  The boys (and Hannah) had so much fun playing together.  It was a yucky day outside, so they had to spend the day indoors.  They didn't have any problems keeping themselves busy, though.

Hannah has been wanting a robe for quite some time now; however, she usually only brought it up when she'd see me wearing mine.  Well, one day she told Mamaw Lee Ann she wanted a bathrobe.  You know what that means, right............

Hannah got her bathrobe and she couldn't be happier!  Mamawmade Hannah's and even made Jenny (her doll) a matching robe!  Now Hannah keeps her robe hanging on the hook next to mine and insists on putting it on after every bath.  Thanks, Mom.  You made one sweet little girl very, very happy!

AND FINALLY.....I am a very proud Mommy!  Kyle made Student of the 9 Weeks for the 3rd Quarter grading period at his school.  We are very proud of him!!!
Way to Go, Kyle!!

Visiting Mamaw & Papa

Over our Spring Bring, Kyle and Hannah spent a night with Mamaw & Papa.  They had so much fun, and Kyle was especially excited to shoot Papa's BB gun!  He told me that he was very good at it and hit the can a lot.  Hannah even gave it a try.  I recently got the pictures from my Mom's camera. Thanks, Mamaw & Papa!
