Football Game

Today Kyle had another footboall game.  I just LOVE watching those 1st and 2nd graders play!  It's so exciting.  Kyle scored another touchdown today:)  I was once again the screaming Mom in the stands!  I, again, took lots of pictures of the game.  I love my zoom lens because I can just sit up in the stands and snap away....and that's exactly what I do.

Birthday Surprise

Today I received the cutest, sweetest thing from a student and I thought it was just too cute not to share it!  It was a huge matte board sign created with words & candy!

Here's what it said - the words in BOLD are the candy.

To a SweetTart of a teacher.  Happy Birthday!!!  You are a Starburst of energy.  It is UP2U to make us all Smarties by using all of your Whatchamacallit and Thingamajig extra special teaching tools.  You teach us a Good & Plenty amount of things everyday!  We will never get a Zero on a test.  You teach us motor skills and put us into Orbit everyday so we are not Air Heads or Nerds.  On your PayDay I wish I could give you 100 Grand!  You are Extra special.  Happy Birthday!  Love, ..............

Definitely made my day today:)

My Birthday

Today I celebrated my actual birthday.  I started the day by going to Mass, then it was off to Kyle's football game.  Kyle ran his first touchdown today at the game!!  It was the BEST birthday present:)  I didn't even get a picture because it was so early in the game.  I didn't have my camera out - I believe I was too busy cheering to have taken a picture anyway.  I asked Kyle if he heard me yelling, he said, "Ya, when I ran by I heard you."  It was exciting!  After the game we headed to Red Robin for dinner with my parents.  It was really good.  I'd only been there one time before, and I was craving a good cheeseburger.  It lived up to my expectation.  Now, I end my birthday doing what I have done for the past 10 years.....watching the 9/11 news coverage and weeping for those who lost loved ones on that day 10 years ago.  It's also a reminder to me on my birthday that God never promises us tomorrow.  We must never take a day for granted, live life to it's fullest and love those around us, because you never know what tomorrow brings.  So, today I thank God for another birthday & all the blessings I have!
Rained just a little.....Hannah & Aidan stayed dry together

Dinner at Jason & Natalie's

Last night we went to eat dinner at Jason & Natalie's house.  Jason made BBQ pulled pork.  It was delicious.  The kids had such a great time playing together, also.  It was the perfect evening for sitting outside and enjoying the outdoors!  Thanks, Jason & Natalie!

My Surprise!

Hannah's party was over by 5:00.  Ben said, "Well, I need to go to Dirk's house, cause I owe him some money and they won't be home until 6:00"  He asked, if there was something I wanted to go do.  I said, "No, I don't have anything."  He said, "Well, do you want to go to Washington Square Mall to the store that sells all that junk, I have never been."  He said, "I thought you'd want to go with me so you can talk to Tina."  I agreed....and we were on our way.  Looking back on it all now, I just laugh.  We were walking around the store and Ben got a couple phone calls.  The first one was Ben's Dad wanting to know what our plans were that evening.  Ben walked away to take that call.  A little while later, Ben got another phone call.  It was around 5 'til 6:00.  I asked Ben who it was and he said, "Keith." (It was actually Dirk giving Ben the go ahead). Then, he quickly said, "You know I'm over this place, let's get outta here!"  We hadn't really been there all that long, but I was like...okay, fine with me.  I was personally over it, too!  So, we drove to Dirk & Tina's.  When we arrived, Dirk was outside clipping his shrubs.  He said, "You should go in there and talk to Tina."  Despite having a horrible headache, that was the only reason I had come....to talk to Tina.  Her Dad is in the hospital and just had to have emergency surgery.  I wanted to see how she was doing.  I walk in and start to give her a hug and she yells, "Geronimo!" (That was their code word) And then everyone jumps out blowing horns and yelling, "Surprise!"  It took me a minute to realize what the heck was going on!!  Then I realized they were yelling suprise at me....they all had surprised me!  I was in shock!  We had Mexican (one of my faves) for dinner, then cupcakes and cookie bars.  Hannah and I were both blessed with many nice birthday presents.  It was such a fun and suprising evening!  Thank you Vaught, Bryant and Wathen family for a terrific birthday party!  Love you all!!

I didn't take too many pictures...but here's a few.
how appropriate:)

The Birthday Girls

Hannah's Bowling Party

On Friday, Hannah had a bowling party.  I won a bowling party at our Summer Social, so I let Hannah have it to take her best buddies bowling with her.  The four preschool girls had never bowled before.  They were so, so cute.  They had a lot of fun, even thought they only made it through 1/2 a game:)  We spent a lot of time watching the ball roll down the lane, wondering if it was going to make it down or not.  I had so much fun watching the kids bowl!

all the girls cheering Keelin's ball on

the girls singing a prayer before eating...too precious

Hannah got a bowling pin that all her friends got to sign...she thought that was really cool

Hugs for all!

Hannah's 5!!!

Hannah turned 5 on September 6th.  It was a busy evening.  Kyle had footall practice and Hannah had gymnastics.  Hannah's birthday request for dinner was PIZZA!  So, after football and gymnastics, we met up at Pizza Chef for pizza.  (Side note - Free Kids' Meals at Pizza Chef on Tuesdays - perfect!)  I still can't believe my baby girl is 5 years old.  I still get teary eyed when I think/talk about it.  She's growing up into such an independent, sweet, loving little girl.  Happy Birthday, Baby Girl!  We LOVE you so, so much!!

Holiday World

We spent a very chilly Labor Day at Holiday with my parents.  We all had a great time.  We were a little disappointed that the weather didn't cooperate and we didn't get to go to the water park.  We did end up running into lots of people we knew.  We got to hang out with the Elfreichs for a while.  Then, when we were on our way to the Holidog Town for the kids to play, we ran into Cydney and a few minutes later we saw Callie was there, too!  The kids had a blast hanging out for a while together.

Mamaw bought icecream for the kids.  Hannah was insistent on the blue and pink kind.
