Gymnastics

Hannah has been taking gymnastics for a couple months now.  She absolutely LOVES it and I LOVE watching her!

Father's Day

Ben had to work Father's Day weekend....bummer!  The kids and I went to Mass without him and then went and did a little shopping and out for lunch...without him.  When we got home, they quickly got their creative juices flowing and made some signs to surprise Ben when he got up.  They planned it all out together.  They made a sign that told him to follow the circles and then placed them throughout the house.  Then, they hid with their signs.  My job was to go get him up and to tell him to, "Hurry up!"  After the kids gave Ben his gifts - I cooked dinner for him.  I made Pork Tenderloin Diane, mashed potatoes, corn, peas and a Kale salad with Tahini dressing.  We also had watermelon afterwards.  Happy Father's Day to the BEST Dad, Friend, Husband!  We LOVE you very much!!

Celebrating Father's Day

The Thursday before Father's Day, Natalie and I spent most of the day setting up for the yard sale.  Later that evening we all took my parents to Tin Fish for dinner.  I absolutely love their fish tacos!!  I didn't take very many pictures, in fact, I didn't even get a picture of me with my Dad!  Anyway, a Happy Father's Day to my Dad - I love you very much!!

Recovering

Well, I have to say I believe that Kyle has enjoyed the recovery period more than he thought he would.  He's been keeping himself busy watching movies, playing the computer & DS, building Legos and eating TREATS!!  Yes, everyone has kept him stock piled with treats.  It started with the treats Tammy got him the day of his surgery and that evening my parents brought him cupcakes.  The next day Aunt Natalie brought him lunch (a McDonalds cheeseburger again per his request) and Choco Cremes from Lics.  He's never had those before, so it was definitely love at first bite for him.  That evening his Great Grandma Emilie brought him a Turtle Pie from Lics (once again, he was in love) and more Choco Cremes from Lics!  Today his Grandma & Grandpa Broeker brought him a big pack of Nutty Bars and a watermelon!  He's feeling pretty special at this point.

Kyle's Surgery

Today Kyle had surgery to repair a hernia.  He was very brave and wasn't nervous at all.  It helped that he had Tammy at his side the whole time.  Tammy also surprised him with a bag full of treats, some different card games and an oreo dessert she made.  That is some serious service from your surgical technician!!  When he got out of surgery, the first thing he said to me was, "Mommy, I didn't feel a thing!"  He went into surgery with pink cheeks from swimming the day before.  When he came out, his sunburn was replaced with pale white.  He kept moving his head around saying, "Oooohhh, I feel so dizzy!"  He was definitely feeling the effects from the pain meds.  The nurse and I kept thinking he was going to get sick as pale as he was, but he did fine.  He was definitely ready to go home.  He kept trying to close his eyes and sleep but couldn't because he said the chair was too uncomfortable.  We hung around after surgery for a few hours.  When we got up to leave, Tammy and I were gathering our bags and when I turned around Kyle was standing in the hallway and the next thing I see was him hit the floor.  It scared me.  My first thought was, "Oh no...he's going to pass out."  It turns out that his leg was still very numb from the surgery and his leg just gave out on him.  I ended up just carrying him out. We got him home and laid him down and then Ben went to get him his requested McDonalds cheeseburger.  So far, he's doing very well.  The hard part will be keeping him down for a week!!  He's got Nurse Hannah taking very good care of him!!

I gave Kyle a new Build a Bear I made for him.  Kyle even put the bear in Hannah's car seat this morning.  Kyle named the bear Burry since Dr. Burry did his surgery.

Kyle and the best surgical tech in the world!  Thanks Tammy - We Love You!!

Fun Day of Swimming

I gave Kyle the option today of what he wanted to do.  He has to take it easy for the next week so I today was his day.  He picked that he wanted to go swimming at his Mamaw & Papa's house.  We took Tina, Henry and Jackson with us since Dirk and Ben were working the booth at the Shriner's Fest all day.  We had a GREAT day.  The kids got along so well in the pool and it was so relaxing.  Hannah was SO excited that she could touch the bottom of the pool with her whole foot!  She couldn't believe it.  It's amazing what a year of growing can do.  She definitely loves the water too.  She was diving off the side and all.
Hannah was so good with Henry.  She pushed him all around the pool.

I told Hannah to give me her model look

Baseball...Baseball...Baseball

Kyle played his final baseball games of the season on Friday evening and Saturday morning.  Saturday morning, they only had an hour of game time in before the game was called for lightening.  His last game of the season was supposed to be today; however, they have now scheduled several make-up games to be played during this next week.  Unfortunately, Kyle will be missing those because he will have surgery on Monday to repair a hernia.  As always, it was so much fun to watch him improve as the season went on.  I love watching him play!
caught him mid-yawn....bored out there, Kyle?

The Vaught Family, Bryant Family & Wathen Family all went together and got Kyle a care package of things to do post-surgery.  How thoughtful & sweet!!!  Thanks so much!!!

He's at it AGAIN!!

Sunday afternoon Ben and I cleaned out the storage room of the basement.  We've had a very old computer down there for many years.  We had no idea what was even on the thing, so we knew we had to be careful how we disposed of it.  We knew just the person that could do it for us............
