I was planning on going into school today to work, but instead we went to the park in Owensboro. We met Natalie and the boys there. I’d never been there before and had been wanting to check it out. It was really nice and I was super impressed with it! Hannah was also excited to run into her best friend, Keelin there! What a surprise that was. We stayed for a few hours and then walked down the street a little piece and had lunch at Fetta Pizza. I’m so glad I could sneak in another fun day before heading back to school.

Bringing Rocky Home
Today we got to go pick up Rocky and bring him home. The first thing we did was take him outside to meet Sadie. We were hoping they’d get along. They hit it off well with their first meeting! Now time will only tell….

Meeting Rocky
Today we headed to the Humane Society just as soon as I was finished with a back to school event I was attending. I had come across a dog they had just and immediately inquired about it through email. They had told me to fill out an application, but they wanted to let me know that they’d already had several people inquire about him. I showed Ben the picture, told him that it was really doubtful that we would even be able to get him, but could I try. He surprisingly said, “Go for it.” If you can get him, that’s fine. I’m pretty certain a certain 7 year old little girl pleading him with her sad eyes helped that situation some. I also believe he really felt that it wouldn’t happen. I emailed the lady at the Humane Society and said that I was extremely interested and I’d be in just as soon as I could. I forwarded my application to them so that it was on file. We got to the Humane Society and I felt so bad because there was someone else who had just arrived at the same time as us to see him. When the lady found out who I was, because my application was on file and I’d talked to them by email already, I got to see Rocky first. The dog immediately took a liking to Hannah. He climbed on her lap and just sat there letting her rub his belly. There was no time for discussion now, I had to give them an answer. There were other people waiting to see him. I let them know that we’d take him, but that we were leaving for TN the next day. I wouldn’t be able to kennel him with Sadie yet because he hadn’t had all the vaccinations he needed yet. They agreed they’d hold him for us until we get back. The kids are so excited we are getting another dog, and I really think Ben is to after he saw the picture of Rocky and Hannah together.

Swimming with Friends
Hannah has been waiting for Keelin to get back from Michigan all summer. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve heard, “When is Keelin coming back?” Well – she is back! So, we decided we needed a swimming play date. Renee and her girls met us at our house and we went to Ben’s parents’ house for the afternoon. We packed a picnic lunch and made a day of it. We all had a nice, relaxing fun day!
