Swimming...Two Days in a Row

On Sunday we we went swimming at Ben's parents' house.  The Vaught family, and Greg and his boys went with us.  We grilled out for lunch and spent the day swimming.  It was a perfect day.

The next day, we went and worked in my classroom and then headed to Conner's grandma and grandpa's house to swim there.  Conner wasn't feeling very well, but he was still a trooper and did some swimming with us still.  He didn't want his picture taken, so I only snapped one picture while there.  We had a great time swimming with you, Tammy & Conner.

Movie Night

July 27- tonight we had movie night at Jason and Natalie's house. Jason grilled chicken for dinner. We watched The Adventures of Tin Tin. The kids all seemed to like it, but all us adults lost interest in it due to random interruptions. We always look forward to our movie nights (and filling up on popcorn and candy)!! I had forgotten my camera, so these are the pictures from my phone.  I plan on adding some more as soon as I can steal them from Natalie's blog:)
Sweet Lucas - he just had hernia surgery earlier in the day.  He was just as happy as could be, though!  He's so sweet...just love him!

Hanging out with Conner

Saturday, July 21st - We watched our buddy, Conner, while his Mommy & Daddy enjoyed a night out.  We had so much fun.  We made pizza for dinner and had Cheetos; however, according to Conner they were not Cheetos!  He wouldn't eat them because they were the fat cheese puffs and not the skinny, fried ones.  He said, "These aren't cheetos!"  After dinner, him and Hannah played and played and played.  They played kitchen, dress-up, and played with the stuffed dogs.  Kyle also shared some more Lego tips with Conner.  We had intentions to watch a movie, but ran out of time.  Thanks for coming to hang out with us, Conner!  We had so much fun.

Kyle's Surgery Day

This morning Kyle had to be at the Deaconess Surgery Center at 6:30 in the morning for his surgery that was scheduled for 7:30.  He had to have another hernia repaired.  He had the right side repaired last June, and the left side repaired today.  The same surgeon did it and Tammy was able to be his surgical tech again.  He didn't seem too nervous at all since he'd been throught the exact same thing just a year ago.  Dr. Burry did tell us that the anesthesiologist did say that he was a little more nervous once he got back to the operating room.  The nurse said when he woke up he said, "I slept through the whole thing again."  He did very well with the surgery and we're hoping now to be done with surgeries since both sides are repaired now.  Hannah went with us this morning and did very well, also.  Once we were back in the room with Kyle afterwards she kept tending to him as if she was his nurse.  She constantly asked him if he was feeling okay and if he needed anything.  And even though he could reach his Sprite, she would get it off the tray each time and give him a drink of it.  When we got home, she immediately went and got her Doctor outfit on and was at Kyle's beck and call for everything.  In fact, I asked Kyle to ask Hannah to make him a glass of water (for me).  She'd do it for Bubby, but not me.  Kyle has spent the day resting and is doing very well.

Thank you, Tammy!  You're the BEST!

Thank you, Tammy, for all the goodies to help with the recovery!!  Yummy!!  I'm sure the sugar will counteract the drowsiness from the pain medication:)

Tennessee - Day 4

On Thursday we slept in a little later than we had and then got everything packed up.  We headed to eat at The Hermitage House Smorgasboard.  It was a southern style buffet restaurant.  It was good, and I had some of the best fish I've ever had there.  They were known for their peach cobbler and apple fritters.  After eating, we went to the Opryland Hotel to walk around.  I hadn't been there for several years and the kids didn't remember it at all.  They were amazed!  We went for a ride on the Delta boats.  I took lots of pictures because everything there is just so beautiful.  After the hotel we went back to the condo to hang out for just a while before we headed back home.  We had a wonderful time and I'm so glad we got to go.  Thank you so much to Mom & Dad Broeker for inviting us along!!!
