We are Thankful for.....

I asked Kyle and Hannah what they were thankful for and here are their responses. What a difference a couple years of maturing makes:)

Kyle - I am thankful for....

our family, our house, Daddy, Mommy, my sister, God, the church, our neighbors, Santa, our cars, our friends, animals - especially for dogs that help people, Sadie, food, and trees

Hannah - I am thankful for....

Mommy, Daddy, Bubby, purses, cereal and animals

Pickerill Thanksgiving

Our first Thanksgiving stop was to my parents' house. There was so much delicious food!! Mom's dumplings are always my favorite....we decided we definitely need these on a much more regular basis! Jason cooked the turkey this year. It was the juciest turkey I have ever had!

of course, we had to have Redi - Whip

I bet my brother that he couldn't do a push-up with all three of the kids on his back.....he managed to do it, but it was too funny!

Broeker Thanksgiving

After leaving my parents' house we headed to Ben's parents' house. Our bellies were full, but somehow we managed to eat some more. Kyle giving his Mamaw her birthday present.

Instant friendships were made with Kyra's sons, Trey and Ty.

All four of the kids had fun wresting with Ben......poor Ben!

Hannah was so tired from her day. She fell asleep on the way home and stayed that way when I carried her in. As you can tell by the sight of her tights....she had a lot of fun this Thanksgiving day!

so peaceful

School Musical

Tuesday night was our school musical. This past summer a time capsule was found in our teacher's lounge when it was cleaned out. It was from exactly 20 years ago, so the school put on a Through the Years themed musical. It turned out very cute. Each grade level had a different decade and performed dances. The kindergartners had the hip-hop era. They were so adorable in their black shirts, sideways hats and sunglasses!!! Hannah enjoying the performance as she claps along

Mrs. Sights let Hannah have a hat and sunglasses, also. She was excited! After the performance she said to me, "Mommy, I want to do that sometime. I want to dance on stage!"

Mike's Benefit

Lastnight we went to the benefit for Ben's cousin, Mike. If you are a close friend of mine then you know his story already. First of all, the Benefit was a huge success with a sell out crowd!! Ben and I helped serve drinks. There was many big highlights of the evening that happened; however, the most moving was when Mike showed up!! He came in with his wheelchair and then walked in (with the help of his walker). He immediately got a standing applause and there wasn't a dry eye in the crowd of over 300 people. He truly is an example of what God's love is capable of. Mike got to be "released" from the hospital for a total of 2 hours from the time he exited the door until the time he stepped back in the hospital doors. It made the evening so much better having him there. Okay...this was HILARIOUS! I was wishing I had brought my better camera so that I could've gotten some better pictures of this production the guys put on. It was Ben, his dad, his brother Matt, and a couple of Ben's cousins & uncles. The band played the song...Rolling on the River. I'll let the pictures speak for the rest!

Mike with his wife, Amy
Another very moving moment...
when Mike was leaving the band played Amazing Grace while the crowd sang along.
What a perfect song for the moment

Holiday Party

November 14, 2009 - We hosted a Holiday Party at our house on Saturday, November 14th. We usually host Christmas Eve; however, so many people aren't able to be there on Christmas Eve. We decided we'd host an earlier party this year so that everyone could be there. We all had so much fun together!! We went ahead and did our Christmas Eve gift exchange, also. The four kids exchanged names and the adults played Dirty Santa with the gift exchange. Hannah & Ryan had fun playing together all night

We didn't have any of our Christmas decorations up yet. The house was decorated for Fall. I borrowed this 4-foot Christmas tree from a friend so we'd have a tree for our gifts. Natalie and I also painted ornaments for each family that we hung on the tree.
