Celebrating Christmas still….

We headed to Ben’s parents’ house to continue our Christmas celebration.  It was a fun day of food, games and gifts.  We also had a nice surprise for Ben’s Mom & Dad for a retirement/Christmas present.  All of us kids surprised him (Joan was aware of our plans already) with plane tickets, hotel stay and tickets to the Barret Jackson Car Show in Scottsdale, Arizona.  I believe we pulled off the surprise well!  He LOVED it.  We’re so glad we could do something so special for them both.  They’ll be leaving in January for their trip.

Snow Day Fun

The kids couldn’t wait to get outside to play in the SNOW!!  They got up bright and early to go out and play because we’d be heading to another Christmas gathering at Ben’s parents’ house later in the day.  They had lots of fun sledding down the small hill in our yard, making snow angels and throwing snow balls.  I sent Ben out with the camera to snap some pictures while I was getting things ready for the Christmas gathering.

Christmas Continues….

We always go to the Broeker Christmas the Saturday after Christmas.  It’s always at the YMI in Huntingburg because there are so many people.  It’s always a good time, and we have fun visiting with all the cousins that we don’t get to see very often.  This year we had our now yearly putt-putt tournament.  The team Hannah was on was the winning team this year.  She was excited about that.  There were also corn hole tournaments, a family trivia game, and Benicia, Megan, Kyle and I played several rounds of Skip-Bo.  I believe we were nearly the last ones to leave because our card game was so intense:)

Happy Rich Broeker Day

Ben’s Dad is retiring, so December 27th 2013 was officially declared Rich Broeker Day!  We went to Rockport to attend the festivities.  It was a lot of fun, and a lot of people showed up to wish him well and show support for him.  We are looking forward to him enjoying retirement come 2013, he has definitely earned it!!
