Happy Birthday, Mitchell!

Kyle and Hannah had fun today celebrating Mitchell’s birthday at Pump it Up. We got him the Angry Birds towel he is wearing and also gave him money to go shopping with.

We had a great Thanksgiving!! Almost our entire family was able to make it. On my side, my parents and both of my brothers and their families were here, along with Ben’s parents and his brother Matt, along with Kyra and the boys, and Mark & Megan. My grandma and her sister were also able to make it. We had so much delicious food. The guys all deep fried the turkeys this year and they were incredible. I’m thinking that we’ll have to deep fry the turkey every year now! Even though it was Thanksgiving, we also celebrated Christmas and a birthday! Steven and Kara are having Baby Kate on December 20th so they won’t be in for Christmas this year. They went ahead and brought all the kids their Christmas presents. Joan’s birthday was also on the 20th of this month and we hadn’t given her her gift yet, so we celebrated her birthday, too. I was glad Steven, Kara and Emma were able to stay and hang out longer. I enjoyed spending time with them, and Steven & Kyle played a little Chess (on the iPad because we don’t have a Chess board). My grandma also stayed and hung out and watched the kids and I play games that evening. That was nice to be able to spend extra time with her, also, since she’s heading to Florida for the winter. I’m feeling especially thankful today for family!!

Pumpkin Pie Baking

Natalie came over tonight to make pumpkin pies with Kyle. They worked making pies all evening. Kyle and Natalie both love pumpkin pies, and Natalie thought it would be nice if the two of them made them together this year. I know Kyle enjoyed it and thought it was very special to get to bake pies with Aunt Natalie. They made 5 pies and we all finished one of them right when it came out of the oven! It was delicious. While they baked, Christian and Hannah spent the evening playing and doing art activities.

Friends Against Friends Meet

Today was Hannah’s first meet. This one was just a Friends against Friends Meet, which is a mock meet to help prepare them for the real thing. Hannah was nervous, but she did great. Because she was only competing against her own team, she didn’t have much competition. She was the only one in her age/level for tumbling, there were two girls in her age/level for trampoline and two girls for double-mini. She, of course, took a 1st in tumbling, a 1st in trampoline, and she tied for 1st for the double-mini. She competed against my cousin’s daughter in the double-mini and this is who she tied with. Those two have become pretty good buddies since tumbling together!
