Jaxson's Baptism

Sunday we went to Holy Trinity church for Mass and Jaxson's Baptism.  It was such a special day for Jax and his family and I'm so glad the four of us were able to be there.  After Mass we went to Jason & Natalie's where Natalie had a delicious lunch prepared (by the way....I still want the recipe for that meat, Natalie).  We got Jaxson a book of prayers for boys and a stained glass keepsake box.  I put a note in the box to Jax that said I was making him a rosary to put in his keepsake box.  I did tell Natalie later that I didn't say when I would have the rosary made by.  We jokingly said that maybe it could be his First Communion gift.  Hopefully, it doesn't take me that long!!

Happy Valentine's Day

We spent our Valentine's evening at home.  Neither Ben nor I felt like cooking and we had sooo many leftovers in the fridge.  We decided to clean out the fridge and enjoy leftovers for dinner.  I made chocolate covered strawberries for dessert.  They were so delicious!  We gave the kids their Valentine's surprise.  They each got a new DVD.  Ben and the kids surprised me with two new sets for my Fiestaware collection.   The kids enjoyed going through their Valentine's from their school parties.  I believe we now have enough Valentine's candy to last us to next year!!

Look at those eyes!

Valentine's Party

Today I stopped in Kyle's room for his Valentine's party.  The room mother had included me in the craft, so I joined Kyle and made my craft.  We got to decorate a heart with our name and Valentine designs using foam stickers.  We also had milk and cookies.

Kyle with his friend, Jayden

The cutest Valentine I've ever seen.  I got this from a student today.  What a cute idea.  The box is a box of sweethearts wrapped in foil.  The ear buds are reese cups and if you blow the picture up you'll see the play list.  On the back it read, "You Rock."  How cute!!

A Great Day

What a great day it was today.......almost 60 degrees!  The kids and I went to mass this morning and then went for a quick trip to Target.  Kyle and Hannah were so excited to get home and play outside!  In fact, Hannah thought it was so warm that she came running downstairs after changing out of her church clothes in shorts and a t-shirt!  I told her it was warm, but not that warm.  It wasn't long before we got a call from Mamaw & Papa Broeker.  They wanted to come down and visit and order pizza for dinner!  What a perfect ending to our day.

First, the kids enjoyed playing DS with Mamaw & Papa.

After dinner it was play-dough time.  They all had fun playing with the Valentine's play-dough that Hannah and I made.

Last Game of the Season

Today was Kyle's last basketball game of the season.  It's kinda sad to see another season come to an end.  It's definitely been fun watching him play every weekend for the last 8 weeks.  He was excited to get a trophy after the game.  It was a big trophy, too.  In fact, it won't fit on the usual shelf we put our team pictures and trophies on.  This one is going to have to go in his bedroom on his dresser.

Kyle and Coach (Daddy)

Jax was such a good boy during the game.  He slept through the entire thing.

Hannah & Christian hanging out.  Christian came to cheer Kyle on!

Hannah and I spent the afternoon in the kitchen cooking.  Together we made chocolate chip cookies, Valentine's Day play-dough and we cooked dinner.  She's such a good helper in the kitchen!

Lunch with Daddy

Ben surprised the kids at school today and had lunch with them.  They were both very excited when they saw their Daddy.  I had to do lunch duty when the kids were eating with their Daddy, but Ben did stay after and have lunch with me, too.  It was great to have him join us.  Hannah told Ben that she wanted him to come eat with her everyday at school!

Happy 1st Birthday, Gavin

After mass we headed to Gavin's 1st birthday party.  It was a football-themed party since it was Super Bowl Sunday.  We had a fabulous lunch of pizza, breadsticks and wings.  It was fun watching Gavin open his presents and DIG into his cake.

Light of Christ Award

Sunday was Scout Sunday at church.  Kyle received his Light of Christ Award on Sunday, also.  The Light of Christ program is the first of five religious emblems available for Catholic youth involved with Scouting.  The purpose of the Light of Christ program is to help children develop a personal relationship with Jesus.  Ben attended a Faith Day with him on a Saturday.  We also worked through various religious activities using the Light of Christ activity book as our guide.  We are very proud of him.

I was presented with the Light of Christ pin to put on Kyle's uniform shirt.  I was also presented with a special pin for myself to wear, also.

Game Day Again

This morning Kyle had another basketball game.  He played even better today than he did last week.  I was so proud of him.  He had a lot of rebounds and scored some points.  He got the rebound once, and took off down the court ahead of everyone else.  He dribbled all the way down to the end and put the ball up - and SCORED!  I was so proud of him.  I didn't get any good pictures from the game, but here's a cute one of Hannah.
Hannah reading a book to Jenny at the game.  Mamaw surprised her with a new outfit she made for Jenny.  Jenny is one spoiled little doll!

Blue & Gold Banquet

Lastnight we went to Kipplee's Party House for Kyle's Cub Scout Blue & Gold Banquet.  I forgot my camera, so I have no pictures from the evening; however, Kyle did recieve his Pet Care belt loop.  I took this picture before he left to go to his last meeting.  He basically had to keep track of what he did to take care of his dog for 2 weeks and make a poster.  He then had to share it with his Cub Scout den.  He also received his Bobcat badge. He was excited to get the kit to make his pinewood derby car, too.  That will be coming up in April, so Kyle & his Daddy will be getting busy on his car soon.

Happy Birthday to my MOM!!

Last Sunday we celebrated my Mom's birthday at our house.  Her actual birthday was the following day.  I fixed veggie lasagna (per her request), and then also made a pan of meat lasagna for all those who wouldn't like the veggie lasagna.  We also had caesar salad and bread.  Hannah helped me bake angel food cake and cupcakes.  Jason, Natalie, Christian & Jaxson also joined us.  It was fun getting to hang out with everyone.  Natalie and I enjoyed sipping some wine together, something we'd been waiting to do for quite some time now.

Mom with her present.  It was a bag she had picked out that she like while we were in Tennessee.  I told her I would buy it for her, but she'd have to wait until her birthday to get it.

Go - Kyle - Go!!

Last weekend we enjoyed watching Kyle play another game of basketball.  It is really amazing to me to see how much the boys have grown and improved since last year.  Kyle played the best game he's ever played last weekend.  He did great!  In fact, during the last few seconds of warm-up he shot a basket from the 3-point line and made it.  The ball was all net.  Kyle's grin after that was priceless.  He only has two more games until basketball season is over.  I'm kinda sad to see it coming to an end.  It's been fun!
