Catholic Schools Week

During Catholic Schools Week, we had a different themed dress day each day.  We also did lots of FUN activities thru the week to celebrate Catholic Schools Week!  I am so blessed to work in a school that I love!  It has become like a second family to our family.  I have the best friends (co-workers), and I’m blessed to be able to take my kids there each day.  The only day I didn’t get a picture was Thursday.  On Thursday they wore their diocesan theme t-shirts.

Happy Birthday, Emma!!

Following Kyle’s basketball game, we headed to Tennessee to celebrate Emma’s 3rd birthday with her.  I didn’t have a working camera with me besides my phone.  So, I was only have a few pictures to blog from the party.  I may have an updated post on the birthday once I get the pictures from Steven and Kara’s camera.  As always, we had a great time hanging out with Steven, Kara, Emma & Kate.  Hannah and Emma had SO MUCH FUN playing together.  Happy Birthday, Emma!  We love you so much!!

Last Game of the Season

Today was Kyle’s last game of the season.  It was a great season, and I enjoyed watching Kyle evolve as a player.  His team did an exceptional job this year.  They played hard and played as a team.  They were so much fun to watch each week.

Gymnastics Meet–Snowflake Invitational, Florence, Kentucky

Hannah had her 2nd gymnastics meet on Sunday.  She did well, especially in tumbling.  She got 1st place out of 11 girls in her level in tumbling.  She got 4th place on trampoline and 6th place on double-mini.  I felt so bad for her on double-mini.  There was some confusion that happened and somehow the level before hers got skipped on double-mini, and they went straight to Hannah’s group.  Hannah was the only one for Newburgh Tumbling on that level.  Once coach was off trying to figure out what had happened and the other coach was with the tumbling group.  So, Hannah was over on double-mini by herself with the other tumblers that all had coaches with them.  She was so confused and I could tell she was getting upset.  She did her first pass on double-mini and did the wrong pass.  She did her second pass first.  After that, she was even more confused.  I was able to tell her to go ahead and do her second pass again.  Her coach also made it over to her before time for the second pass and asked if they were still warming up.  No…..warm up was over, first pass done!  So, she scored a 0.0 on her first pass which, of course, didn’t help her overall score even though she did well on her second pass.  She was upset, and I felt bad for her, but it was a learning experience.  I let her know that sometimes her coach may not be able to be there.  Well – come to find out the other’s teams coach that was trying to help Hannah made the confusion worse when she told Hannah the wrong pass!  That’s why she did her 2nd pass first!  Oh well – her 1st place in tumbling made up for all of thatSmile  I’m very proud of her!  I also didn’t get very many pictures because my camera was acting up.  It eventually just stopped.  Found out it was problem with my lens I was using.  I now need to get it replaced!

Heading to IKEA

After the game, the kids, my mom and I left for the rest of the weekend.  Hannah had a gymnastics meet scheduled for Sunday in Florence, Kentucky.  This is just about a 30 minute drive from the IKEA in West Chester, Ohio.  We thought this was a perfect opportunity for a shopping trip.  We got to IKEA about 3:00 in the afternoon their time.  It was sunny and beautiful when we went in.  We came out around 7:00 and the weather had taken a drastic change! It was snowing hard with several inches on the ground.  It took us forever to get back to the hotel because of the road conditions and traffic was traveling very slow.  I’m not used to driving in those conditions!  I didn’t enjoy the drive back, but was thankful to get back to the hotel safe and sound.  We ordered pizza from Dominos and hung out in the room for the remainder of the evening.  The next morning would be coming quick….we had to be down for breakfast at 6:00 (our time).  Here’s a picture I snapped at IKEA when we got out.  IMG_5469[1]

Kyle’s Basketball

The next morning we headed to Kyle’s basketball game.  Unfortunately, they lost this one, but the boys played hard and as a team.  It’s been fun watching their skills improve with each passing week.  I’ll be sad when his games come to an end very soon.  I love watching him play.

Epiphany Party

Tonight we headed to the Hornville Tavern for our Epiphany party for work.  We had a great time, but had to leave the festivities a little early because Hannah got sick at my parents’ house and wanted to come home.  We always have such a nice time at this gathering.  IMG_7109Staff members that were presentIMG_7118Being Silly
