Bowling

Tonight the 4 of us went bowling.  We bowled 3 games!  I beat Ben 2 out of those 3!

Making Music

These two have been suddenly interested in learning to play the piano, and the guitar fascination is still there, too.  I’ve started giving some piano lessons to them both, and we plan on starting guitar lessons soon.  We’d hoped to start the guitar lessons this summer, but summer got way too busy! 

Cousin Night 2013

Lastnight was Cousin Night ‘13.  What a fun night it was.  All of the cousins on the Pickerill side were able to be together.  There were 6 of the 8 of us there.  We were just missing Steven & (Kara) and Mandy & (Shawn).  We had a great time.  We all met up at Travis’ new house first to hang out for a bit, then we headed to Max & Erma’s for dinner, and then on to a few places on Main Street.  I’m so glad we were all able to have a night out together.  It has been SO LONG since this has happened!.

Zoo Visit

Yesterday we met Natalie and the boys at the zoo for a short visit.  They were already there when we got there, so we met them at the Bumper Boats.  I bought coins for both Kyle and Hannah to ride when we got there, but we soon learned that Kyle was too tall for the boats!  So, Hannah, Christian and Jax rode them.  It was fun hanging out with them.  We were a little spoiled this past weekend with our Cincinnati Zoo experience, so we didn’t stay at the zoo too long before heading out.  The kids and I went out for lunch.  They got to pick the place, and they chose Taco Johns.  Kyle loves the potato oles!  We ran a few errands and then went home and had movie night.  We watched Life of Pi.  It was an overall great day! 

Cincinnati Cont’d

The next morning (Sunday), we got up at 7:00.  We got dressed and headed down for breakfast provided by the zoo.  After breakfast, we went to a bird show at the zoo.  Next, we headed out to visit the United States Air Force Museum.  It was about an hours drive away.  This museum was HUGE!!  There was no way we could’ve made it through the entire thing.  We did get to see a lot of it, though.  All the boys enjoyed getting to see all of the airplanes.  We left the museum later in the day. The four of us stopped for dinner at Uno Chicago Grill and then made a stop at the IKEA store.  By the time we got home we were completely EXHAUSTED from our week!! 

Cincinnati Cont’d

We all went our separate ways at 5:00 for dinner.  We joined the Coomes’ family at Chipotle.  When we got back to the Zoo, it was time for our night program.  First, we divided up into two groups and went on a behind the scenes night hike.  It was really cool.  We all learned so much more about so many of the animals, and we got to go behind the scenes where the public is not allowed.  It was a really neat experience for all of us.  That lasted from 7:00-9:30.  At 9:30, we had a snack and then gathered for an up close encounter with some animals.  We got to see and touch an alligator, snake, bird and an armadillo.  The armadillo actually crawled around in our circle.  Too cool!!  At 11:00, we all headed back to get ready for bed.  I gathered the Webelos to get a picture of the group – which then led to a pillow fight.  They had so much fun!
