Kyle's First Field Trip

Today was an exciting day at the Broeker house. Kyle had his very first field trip today. He had talked about it all weekend. He didn't think Monday was ever going to get here. Today he also took his very first school bus ride. His preschool class went to Huber barn. At the barn he got to see lots of animals including: alpacas, miniature horses, cats, goats, donkeys, a pot-bellied pig and llamas. He also got to ride a horse, swing on a rope swing, play in a barn loft and sit on a tractor. I was told he was a little scared of some of the animals but rode the horse with no problems at all. He has rode Papa's horse enough that it comes as no surprise to me that he rode without hesitation. Kyle says his favorite part of the field trip was getting to swing on the rope. He loved his field trip so much that he has already asked me where they are going tomorrow! I wasn't able to go on the field trip but I got some great pictures to share thanks to my friend, Wendy (Leland's mom). Kyle & Leland before leaving for the field trip

Josh & Brittany's Wedding

My cousing Josh got married on Saturday. It was a beautiful wedding & a fun reception. We had a great time! Here are some pics from our evening. The very happy couple - Brittany just looked beautiful and her wedding gown was gorgeous! Josh was looking handsome, also.

Kyle with Malik (Malik is my cousin Mandy's little boy) Kyle & Malik hadn't seen each other since they were babies. It was much easier getting them to pose together for a picture the last time they were together. It was so good to get to visit with them again!

Hannah with her Great Uncle Larry - Larry says he has a picture of him holding me when I was about Hannah's age. I will have to locate that picture and post a comparison.

My Tuesday Night Date

I had a date with my favorite little boy on Tuesday night. Kyle still had a gift card from his birthday to Build a Bear that we hadn't spend yet. So, we went on Tuesday night when Daddy was at work and Hannah was spending the night with Mamaw & Papa. I told him we'd go eat at the mall and go to Build a Bear. While I was there I thought I would attempt a little shopping. I couldn't help but laugh when Kyle said to me, "Mommy, this doesn't look like eating. This looks just like shopping to me." After dragging him through many stores we finally made our way to Build a Bear. What an experience! I had never been before. I was truly amazed with all the clothes & accessories that are available for stuffed animals. Kyle didn't choose a bear. Instead he chose a turtle. This is Kyle giving his turtle lots of love while it was getting stuffed.
Kyle picking a heart to put in his turtle Kyle giving his turtle a bath - (he said this was his favorite part)
Kyle's turtle after visiting the dressing room. He picked out a Colts football uniform for his turtle to wear. He said he was going to pretend that it was a Rebel uniform just like Uncle Mark wears. He named his turtle Freckles and Freckles has not left his side since he came home with us. We even had to go to Target to show Daddy after we left. Kyle will take Freckles to show-and-tell on Thursday.

Broeker Open

Today Ben and I played in the Annual Broeker Open. We had a really fun time. I only got a few pictures taken today. Here are a couple taken at the golf course. Our team consisted of Mark Broeker, Mike Broeker, Ben and myself. Our team tied for 2nd place. (There was actually a 3-way tie for 2nd place). We ended up 3 under par and the winners were 5 under. We went to a park in Jasper after the scramble. Everyone from Ben's family met up and we had a nice picnic with lots of yummy food. Kyle & Hannah had a great time riding their bikes and playing on the playground.

Hannah still celebrating.....

Uncle Jason, Aunt Natalie & Christian came over Thursday night and brought Hannah her birthday present. We decided to stay in and order pizza for dinner so the kids could run and play together.
It was so much fun watching them play. Hannah is ready for camping now. She got a new backpack, sleeping bag, water bottle and flashlight. We haven't told her yet but we are taking her on her first camping trip in October.
Hannah trying out her new sleeping bag
Hannah just loves holding Christian! Too bad Christian does not want to be held very long. He wants to be on the go, go, go!
Hannah wanted her Aunt Natalie to read a story to her (Fancy Nancy, of course). Hannah just loves to be read to.
Christian loved Kyle's popsicle. He kept pulling it out of Kyle's hands to take licks. Eventually, he ended up with Hannah's popsicle. Hannah was a sweetheart and gave Christian hers.
O.K. here's where the fun happened! Natalie and I tried and tried to get a good shot of the kids together. A good shot would mean all eyes on the camera and smiles on faces. Impossible!
These were the best ones I got.
Hannah is just crazy about her cousin. I just loved this shot of the two of them lost in their own little private conversation.

The Dotted Dinosaur

Kyle does some of the cutest projects at preschool. This past week they were working on the letter D. This is him posing with his Dotted Dinosaur hat he made. For show and tell this week he took in his Doctor outfit he wore last Halloween.

Lots of Birthday Party Pics!!

I know I am really late getting the rest of Hannah's birthday party pictures posted. She had such a good time at her party. She is feeling like a real princess now with all of her new girl toys and dress-up clothes. Hannah just loves her new dress-up clothes that Tammy & Steve got her, especially the shoes! She wants to wear them all of the time around the house. Surprisingly, she walks pretty good in them. I can already tell she is going to be a shoe lover!
Here she comes.....the youngest American Idol contestant.
And her singing just blows us away!

This was just the sweetest thing. Kyle painted Hannah a bird house for her birthday present from him. She opened it and then gave him a kiss.
Hannah showing off her fancy crown and her new Fancy Nancy book. She got three different Fancy Nancy books for her birthday. She just loves them all. Hannah is definitely into fancy!
Look at those earrings. Lately Hannah has shown such a fascination in earrings. I know that if she could talk a little more that she would be begging me to get her ears pierced. Most of her dress-up outfits came with clip on earrings. Those will have to do for now. She just loves them.

This was Hannah's birthday cake. She had a My Little Pony birthday party. I took Hannah to the party store and laid out all of the little girl birthday items. She immediately picked up the My Little Pony things and screamed, "EEEEEEEE." (That's the sound a horse makes in case you didn't know)
All of the kids had such a great time jumping. Trenton & Kyle had lots of fun wrestling inside the bouncer.
