Happy Birthday Trenton

Today was a busy day.  First, we went by Ben's parents house to visit.  We still hadn't seen her to give her her Mother's Day present, so we gave her that first.  We had seen them the Saturday before Mother's Day, but didn't have the gift with us.  We visited for awhile and then we all headed to the Seitz's house for Trenton's 8th birthday party.  It was HOT, but we managed to find some shade and the kids stayed cool playing on the slip-n-slide.  It was a FUN day.  Happy Birthday Trenton!!

Memorial Day Cook-Out

Today we went to Bonnie & David's annual Memorial Day cook-out.  We had a great time visiting with everyone and the kids had a lot of fun playing with Emerson & Avery.  This year there was also entertainment at the cook-out.  There was a Rod Stewart impersonator who was quite entertaining!

Our Garden

Well, we've tried gardening before without much luck, but I wanted to give it another try.  So, today we went and picked out some plants and got our garden ready.  The kids and Ben got the soil ready and then I planted the plants.  I planted grape tomatos, green bell peppers, red peppers, jalepeno peppers, and fajita peppers.  I need to get another tomato plant still and I want to plant some cilantro, but haven't been able to find that yet.  If the garden goes well this year, then I'd like to add some more items to it next year.

Kyle & Hannah's Carnival

Kyle & Hannah got creative the other day and created their own carnival.  They kept adding to it for 2 days, and by the time they were finished they had 15 games to play.  Ben and I each had our turn going through the carnival and Kyle & Hannah played carnival over and over.  I love that they play so well together!  Here's a few pics I took.

Prizes

You have to throw the ball and match what color ball is in the circle.  It's tougher than it looks:)

First Grade Awards

On the last day of school Kyle received 2 awards.  He received an AR award for making his AR goal 2 of 2 quarters.  He also received a special art award from the art teacher.  He was really excited about that and I was very proud of him.

From Caterpillar to Butterfly

Hannah had her Preschool Graduation program on Tuesday, May 24th.  It was such a cute program.  The entire thing was bug themed and was titled Jeepers Creepers.  Hannah has been practicing her songs for weeks.  She sings them over and over and over.  It was so fun to watch her perform them with her class!  This year she was in the caterpillar preschool class for 3/4 year olds.  She graduated from the caterpillar class and will now be in the butterfly class.  This coming year will be her final year before she starts kindergarten.  I get really emotional just thinking about it.
